He has even been losing weight, and offers Molly his pinstripe suit to cvut down to her size. Mirt the phone operator has mnews about her nephew, and his ration book, as Fibber contacts his tailor. Abigail Uppington visits , but doesn’t want to tell her shoe size for a new pair of skates. She has been taking lessons from Fibber’s old teacher. Billy Mils plays a jazzy tune.
Downtown, Molly still wonders at who cousin Waldorf is, and why he sent Fibber such nice cigars. A man on the streets begs money to buy a couple war stamps. The tailor takes measurements, and makes an appointment for Molly. Harlowe Wilcox chats with the McGee’s to spin the topis of cigars and the tailor shop into the commercial.
Molly pops into the drugstore, while Teeny tells why her dad is buying so many cigarette lighters. How can she go for a ride when the family car doesn’t even have tires on it? The Kingsmen sing, Hitvh Old Abend to the Shea Again.
Fibber recalls his old fashions from his old college days. A telegram arrives from Wallace Wimple to say he’ll be back next week. Mr Tolliver, the new neighbor from down the street enters to reveal some secrets about Fibber’s pinstripe suit, and the fancy cigars Fibber has been smoking.
