Last minute shopping finds the young swains in town picking up gifts for their girlfriends. All except for Mel, who has reached the bottom of his savings account. Betty pops into the fix it shop to tell how his rival, Willie Murdock has been putting the moves on her. Together they day dream about a future Christmas they’ have once they’re married. She’s such a special girl, what can Mel get for Betty for Christmas? A last moment customer offers the chance for Mel to play Santa for her son on Christmas. Will Mel be able to convince young Bobby that he’s the real Santa?

Zookie goes on ahead to the Colby’s Christmas party to stall for Mel. A misunderstanding makes everybody think that Mel has gone out with another woman.

Victor Miller and the Sportsmen perform their holiday arrangement of, Jingle Bells. Despite sacrificing his evening at the party, Mel is glad to play Santa for the little boy. Will he understand why everybody at the Colby’s is so mad at him? Ugga Ugga boo, ugga boo boo ugga! Its Mr Cushing, the Mighty Potentate of the Zebra lodge, and he’s at the fix it shop to complain about living with his wife. The lonely guy just has no body to talk to. He may be the only man besides Zookie who knows that Mel is actually playing Santa, and not running around on Betty.

Join the scene at the little house as Mel comes down the chimney to make Bobby’s day. He passes out toys, and talks in plenty of funny voices. Imagine Mel’s surprise when the whole gang has learned the truth about his absence. Bobby’s Christmas has been made even more special.
