A cantankerous, skeptical, old man complains of the ulterior motives people have in their gift giving. He scoffs at the false good will, and predicting people will be back to their rat race, with the holiday and tinsel fading into a lost memory. The lonely old gents complain its all a wasted expense.
The bartender in the club relates how the Christmas story has repeated itself. Flashback to truckers on a snowy highway caravan. A desperate man in search of help when his wife is having a baby along the side of the road. A trucker named Michael, Joe the carpenter now in the military, and Mary.
Plowing down the highway comes to a halt, when the truck has engine trouble. Fortunately, Mike knows a man near by, if the walk isn’t too exhausting. What about the shepherds, wisemen, and star? The bartender tells how those parallels came to be.
Cops race in with lights and sirens running. Do they expect trouble? A gang of thieves in a hideout? Is it all just a convenient parallel? Or has Christmas worked its magic to soften the hearts of a couple old curmudgeons, and conquer their loneliness? Secrets aren’t finished revealing themselves, until the spirit of Christmas is ready.
