Britt rides into a town that is in a state of decline. He learns that the railroad is pulling its contract to route the line to a nearby town. The hold up in letting the railroad through is Silver Annie. The old gal owns a depleted silver mine and refuses to let it go or believe it is played out.
The town gets the idea to force her hand by declaring her insane. The people take her to court to prover insanity and take her land.
Britt has compassion on her, and using ore samples, proves there is still silver to be mined. The railroad goes to the other town, but folks don’t care since silver is back. Little do they realize that Britt has played a little trick on them, or did he?
