Rowing their boat to the Spindrift under cover of fog, Jack and Billy make their last trip before setting sail. On the ship, Betty is terrified over hearing footsteps. Is there a stowaway? Her fear is real, but after Jack and Billy make a complete search it calms her a bit.
The listener is reminded through the conversations that there are gangs who are just as intent on getting to the sunken ship with the cargo of uranium. It will be a much needed ingredient in new, and marvelous inventions for mankind. With most of the story thus far recounted, Jack and Billy show off some of their high tech equipment. Our heros certainly have some nifty inventions to help them on their mission.
Finally uncle Jim arrives, and the Spindrift is setting sail. On leaving the bay, footsteps are heard once more. Stay tuned to the next installment to find out who it could be.
