As Brit rides in search of his next job, he witnesses an incident in town. A man is being given a hard time over his cowardice. A Rancher wants to buy out the property that is owned by the man’s wife, by force, if need be.

Brit recognizes the man as a former cowboy he worked with doing manly man stuff. Anything but a coward. More details of the cowhand emerge, and Brit relaxes at his hotel. He talks to the wife and learns a secret. The man, Will, had been involved in a bank robbery and spent time in jail. His mild manners are his attempt at going straight. He wants to keep his past a secret, but the trouble is that he is being pushed into confrontations by bullying men to force him to react with either compliance, and lose what he and his wife have worked for, or with violence which will force him into breaking the terms of his release from prison.

Can Brit intervene before things blow up? Is there a way for Will to fight for himself without gunplay? The situation grows tense, and there’s a standoff at the bully’s ranch, but Brit manages to prevent disaster, at least for Will. The gunfight reduces to a fierce fist fight, with Brit announcing the commentary of the action. It’s just the thing Will needs to prove his manhood, and not be reduced to killing. The ranch is saved, and his secret kept safe.
