Looking forward to the first day of Fall, Don welcomes the last rose of Summer… Jack Benny! Mary has a letter from back home to share with Jack. The folks write about the appearance of Marylin Monroe on Jack’s show. Dennis arrives in a hurry to sing his song. He tells about his medical coverage, and having organs removed. An attempted call to Rochester leads to the phone operators gossiping about their summer vacations. Don plugs the appearance of Jack and Mary on the Womans Home Companion magazine. Dennis sings, Where is Your Heart.
As Bob Crosby arrives, Jack tells about the play. Based on a Gary Cooper hit film. Jokes about the band abound. Rochester phones in to interupt Jack. He tells about a near miss with a traffic cop, and an accident he had to report. The play begins.
The lush island environment has plenty of papayas, but no mammies to be found. Watch out, there could even be a simmeron roll involved. The warriors, aka the Sportsmen, come out to sing the sponsor message to the tune of the Hawaiian War Chant.
The play continues. Will Gary Benny win the hand of his native princess? How will his confrontation with the island king go?
