One reason that Connie Brooks and her landlady get along so well is due to cooperation, which Connie describes so well. Topics at the breakfast table include Mrs Davis substituting items to save money, Connie’s late rent, and a recent rash of burglaries. Walter arrives with his own troubles with Harriot Conklin. Does she have a romantic interest on the side?
Later at school, as Harriot and her dad talk, the secret of her aloofness comes out for the listener. The topic of cat burglars is part of the problem, and Mr Conklin asks Connie for a special favor. She is to spend the weekend with Harriot for safety when he and Mrs Conklin leave town.
Connie has to break her date with Boynton, but he thinks she’s doing it to go out with another man. Now both Walter and Boynton are suspicious of their favorite gals.
In the Conklin home Connie and Harriot are joined by Mrs Davis as the gals all seek security with each other. The girls try to be brave and tough it out, but when Boynton and Walter get worried, they go to check on them. The lights are out, Boynton arrives, and the girls attack with their improvised weapons.
Conklin arrives, and is attacked. Catburglars be warned, these gals mean business.
