Since Fibber ruined Molly’s dress form, he gets recruited to fill in as the dress dummy. Kingsmen sing, You Was.
The cross dressing Fibber jokes a little about women’s apparel with Molly, and Doc Gamble pops in to turn the heat to make fun of Fibber as the situation lends itself. Jokes include items about Fibbers appearance, Doc’s health and weight. Harlow stops in for some seamstress related talk that , of course leads into a commercial.
As Fibber tolerates his duties, the janitor from the Elks, Ole, stops in. He has a mesage for McGee, and Fibber is anxious to head down to take care of business, but Ole has already taken care of it. On the way out, Ole mistakes the closet for the front doorA classic moment of radio sound affects.
Billy Mills plays, Sunflower. Molly’s dress is taking shape, when Mayor Latrivia stops in to comment about fibber’s feminine good looks. The Mayor and Molly talk about fashons, and saving money. The Mayor talks about his gal, FeeFee taking the train, which sets him up as the straight man for a classic vaudevilian comedy routine about upper and lower berths.
Molly runs upstairs to take care of a chore. Nope, Teeny doesn’t visit, instead an uppity neighbor comes and mistakes the short haired, cigar smoking Fibber for Molly. Scandalous. Now Molly’s social commitments have been shot down the drain. She won’t need those dress alterations afterall.
Fibber and Molly put in a plug to support the Red Cross.
