Fibber contemplates his stylish new look, as Doc Gamble pops in to swap insults on the topic of clothing. Can Fibber refer any of his friends to the new tailor in town? He’ll get a discount if he does. Old Timer visits to talk about writing a letter, and doing deep sea diving for the Seabees.
Millicent Carstairs visits to talk about the bout of illness at her house. The Kingsmen sing, Old Rocking Chair’s Got Me.
Mayor Latrivia visits to tell about his involvement with the Boy Scouts. It’s the anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scouts of America. It still doesn’t get the Mayor off the hook for some twisted word play on knot tieing. Fibber makes a phone call, and gets Mert on the line.
After some travelling music, and many phone calls later, Fibber claims to have finally met his quota of referals for a free suit. There’s just a little drawback from all his hard work.
PS: Mayor Latrivia makes reference to learning how to tie knots in the Coast Guard. Gale Gordon did leave the show for a while to serve in the military in the war.
