Recently Meredeth Willson has moved in, but it doesn’t keep George from being in a good mood. His song soon dies on his lips when he discovers that Gracie has invited the Beverly Hills Uplifters Society over for a meeting. Meredeth has not only been made an honorary member, he’s been made an honorary woman. Will the ladies appreciate his vaudeville style jokes any more than George does?
The ladies try to figure how they can bolster their lack of funds. Madam DeSilva, Verna Felton, is a potential new member. She just may be the one member who can get on George’s good side. All the club need is to find a operatic baritone to sing with Madam DeSilva, and George isn’t going to be it.
Maybe Bill Goodwin can lend his good looks to attract the new member to join the group. A little blackmail helps convince him, but how will Gracie convince George he is too sick to perform? Feeling on death’s door, George stays home and tunes in his radio show. How are the ladies doing without his comic talents?
Coming to his senses, and not wanting those old hens laying eggs on his show, George races in just in time to stop Bill. The attempt at opera, and the sponsor message puts a stop to the singing, and the show.
