Burglary Detail. looters have been robbing fashionable homes. Now its up to Joe Friday to stop them.
Follow the footsteps to the department office where Joe discusses the motive behind the burglaries with Ben Romero and the captain. Nobody Cares about the stakeouts, or angles, all they want is to have their furs and jewelry back.
Putting the facts down on paper, the detectives recount similarities. Victims were out in a public place. Night clubs, theaters, restaurant and wearing their finery. Is there a spotter who tips off a burglary ring?
The latest victim has a Swedish maid who was witness, and locked in a closet while men ransacked the place. Her descriptions are incomplete, but its more than Joe has had to go on in months. Police records identified a possibility, and a family member of the suspect is questioned. The mundane routine is described in voiceover, but will it lead anywhere?
One of the biggest problems is in recovering the stolen property. In voiceover Joe tells that a stash of stolen goods has been found, and the trail continues to a night club. The hat check girl tries to play it off as innocent, but Joe knows her connection to Garson. How long can she hold up under intense interrogation? She knows enough to tell where the next job is going down. Just who is the ringleader of the gang? It was a pretty smart set up Virginia, the 23 year old hat check girl had going on for herself. Except for the shoe going to jail thing.
