Boston Blackie – Blackie’s Car Kills A Woman. 450716

When Blackie takes his car to his mechanic, he learns the hard way that the automobile was used in a hit and run that killed a woman the night before. Clearly Blackie doesn’t know a thing about it. Farraday is sure the car is the one used in the crime, but can it be? He actually believes Blackie is innocent for a change? Now it’s Blackie’s turn to lay out the circumstantial evidence to muddy the waters, and imply that his lack of alibi still makes him a suspect. Both men agree that the car was stolen, and used in the murder, and that’s where Blackie starts his nvestigation. The girls family all have motive. Is her father unhappy with her choice for a potential husband? Is her brother the protective kind who wants to preserve his share of the family estate? What about the fiancee, is there another man for him to be jealous of? An increase in the body count narrows the margin a little.

Expanding his circle of investigation, Blackie talks with Florence, the sister of the now dead fiancee. With not only one confession, but two of them on his hands, Blackie is sure the waters are muddied, and he can’t decide who to trust. Blackie smells a rat, and isn’t afraid to rush into danger.

Get ready for a plot twist that finds Blackie looking down the business end of a pistol. Guns blaze, a girl screams, and though Blackie has his man, the question of the motive for the crime needs to come out before this mystery is untangled.
