Exploring the blend of science fiction and science fact, we look at a time during the previous war. British intelligence investigates reports in advanced German technology. The news turns out to be nothing but an article in a science fiction magazine, but it turns into a plan in counter warfare. A leak of a top secret project, one of utmost importance, but one that doesn’t really exist, is given to the enemy. The idea is that they’ll divert man power away from their rocket development, to keep up with the fake development of the fake project.
A fiction writer, PFC Herman, is called from his duty on the line to develop a plausible science fiction that could be mistaken for fact. Specifications for a ray beam weapon is developed. If it could be built, what would it do? Now to find a handy German agent to leak the plans to, and see if he’ll pass it along.
What will happen once the German message traffic is intercepted, to find evidence that a weapon has been developed? One that can blow the top off of mountains? Have they perfected the fake plans? Time to scramble, and draw their own scientists off of important projects to keep up with the German advancements.
