Liz drives downtown to pick up George. The theme of the show rapidly develops as Liz is late due to her ever changing mind on what to wear. Then when meeting the Attaberry’s for dinner, Frank Nelson is the snooty waiter, Gale Gordon is Mr Attaberry, and Liz still can’t make up her mind, or finish a thought. With all that yummie food on the menu, it just lends itself to Liz’s indecision.
Later, George and Liz relive a few embarrassing moments from the evening. George demands that Liz be more like a man and not change her mind. Can Liz keep her promise, and finish the things she starts?
Liz begins by finishing cleaning out the hallway desk. a job she started, but has never finished. Instead, she finds more things she left unfinished, namely an old letter that she started when she was dating George, but never finished. If she finishes it, not only will she not get the desk finished, but the rift it could cause might start some sparks with George. Whew, that’s a lot of starts and finishes.
Later at dinner, the Attaberry’s are asked over, and Liz is all set to make George squirm over the letter that tells how Liz will leave him. Too bad George never got that letter. Now both Liz, and Iris Attaberry are heartbroken that their husbands want to send them both away. What kind of letter did George get that made him think it was OK to send Liz away? Will he discover the letter that Liz meant to torture them with? Don’t worry, there’ll be a happy ending to the misery that Liz finds herself in, right after all the comic moments are done.
