Burns and Allen – Last Broadcast for CBS. 400626.

George tries to learn what the cast thought of their performance last week, but he gets the usual frustrations. George announces that this is the last show for the sponsor, and the network. Next week George and Gracie become a Summer replacement program. The cast all remember the good times, and joke about how they met, and places they went to.

The sentiments are all jokes at George’s expense, but all he wants is for someone to say something nice about him. He just can’t get any respect.

Frank Parker sings, My Dream Girl. George auditions a new singer, though he is far from being the best musician, he is much more comical. The cast all joke around as they say their farewells. Ray Noble plays a tune.

With all the goodbyes said, and joking done, George and Gracie have everything all packed up to move to the new studio.

PS: Did you notice a lack of jokes about Gracie’s presidential campaign? Apparently, either the new studio, or George and Gracie figured it was a running gag that had run its course and it isn’t brought up again. I still think the politicians were secretly afraid she might win, and ran her out of the picture.
