Due to having another client interested in the film, Lum got into a bidding war. He’s a little upset to find it was Abner, but when the district manager of the movie company comes to visit, Lum plans to get the matter straightened out. Will he show grandpap how to get things done?
Lum has previewed the film, and it’s about the worst he’s ever seen. The slick talking salesman agrees to work with Lum on the price, but insists the Vulture’s Revenge really is the best movie made. Even if the movie isn’t so great, the salesman convinces Lum that folks don’t come to the theater to watch the movie. Huh? What do they come for?
Before long Lum is signing a contract for companions to movie sales. Added features, lobby decoration, and bonuses, all at no extra cost. They’re thrown in for free. Hmmm… then why is Lum’s bill suddenly so much higher than when he started?
