In this installment from the Retro Radio vault, our old fashioned Retrobots mention FDR’s change of Thanksgiving. In our Bonus tracks, the current bots add more comments on the matter.
That bubbling , effervescent personality, Jack Benny is introduced. The carbonated kid gets in a joke that confuses Dennis Day. Mary isn’t impressed with the joke, but will hers be any better? Jack pokes fun at Phil’s mucic and humor. Dennis sings, Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair.
Jack remarks how well Dennis is coming along in his 7th week on the show. A mention of Lum and Abner is made when he admonishes Mary, and Dennis mom pops in.
The play is to be on Thanksgiving, but Mary has written a poem instead. Thanksgiving, You’re a Little Mixed Up Aren’t You Kid? After a knock at the door, Phil plays, Cheri Beri Bin.
The gang is invited to Jack’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. What does he plan to serve? Will there be any celebrities there? How bout those big red letters on the box? Rochester phones in to try to get Thanksgiving off, and imply the turkey is really an ostrich. . Phil plays the show out.
