The old matron, Fiona, rules her mansion with an iron hand. There’s no time for dancing, and the house runs on schedule, with chores handled by the household servants. There’s no pleasing her, but Gerald’s life is about to change when Mona Carter enters the scene.

As the youngsters have their fun, Fiona is shocked to find them missing. Police are alerted, and the heires are feared to be kidnapped. Despite hearing the news bulletins on the radio, the young folk insist on not being treated like errant school children. They revel in all manner of low class fun, like going to the boxing matches. Will Mona be arrested for kidnaping, when the escaped heir is spotted?

Taking shelter from the storm, both of high society and the rain storm, Mona and Gerald get a hotel room. Will their lives be taking different roads soon? Gerald has a fiancee, and there seems no place in his life. Has he fallen for her? Mona figures it’s time to get out to avoid all the aftermath. Gerald is still missing weeks later as far as the manhunt is concerned. Will he ever return home? Will he find true love, and face up to his overbearing grandma?
