Getting packed up at the end of the Summer, Joan prepares to leave her room at her uncle Paul’s, and go back to school. He’s proud of how much she’s matured over the summer. Has she found herself, and her dream world? She’s afraid of falling back into her old life, and mot being recognized for the responsible person that she’s become.

Henry Barber is home, but upset that he can’t find his stuff. Cliff is thrilled to have Andy living with him now, rather than over at Claudia’s. Over at Hazel’s, she and Dan try to unpack, and get settled in. Mix ups in packing, and mishaps abound. Has Margret and grandpa made up yet? She’s taking it hard, but is it something she brought on herself?

What happened to the hammock that has Pa Barber so bent out of shape? As Henry is frantic, and Cliff hogs the phone line talking to his girlfriend, the rest of the family are on the way over to put Henry’s miserable nerves out of their misery. Or just to have some fun tormenting him a little before they reveal the secret. Will this be the day that he admits that he was wrong about something?

Jack takes time to search for a missing blanket for one of his six daughters. Joan gets settled back home with her parents Claudia and Nick. Will the reunion be a happy one? Has their absence in the Summer drawn them closer?
