Rochester drives the Maxwell so Jack can do some Christmas shopping. As they drive, Jack remembers a Christmas from his boyhood. Once the arrive at the department store, will Jack manage to find some free parking? Meeting up with Mary, she and Jack review shopping lists. Inside, Jack arranges for a line of credit. Elsewhere, we join up with Dennis Day and Mel Blanc as Dennis plans a gift for his mom. phil harris gets some southern hospitality as he shops for some longerie for Alice. The band pplays some smoothe travelling music.
We rejoin Jack and Mary doing more shopping, and encountering Mr Kitzel. Will Mrs Kitzel appreciate the fur coat he pplans to get for her? A department store tout tries to sway Jack’s decision before meeting up with Don. The Sportsmen pretend to be a wind up music box to sing the commercial.
At the perfume counter, Jack deals with an enthusiastic Harvard man. The loud salesman tries to pitch a sale for Jack’s sister. Jack spies on Rochester as he picks out a pair of cufflinks.
There’s just one more thing to get, and Jack meets up with Mel, the salesman he drove crazy last year with the decision between plastic or metal tipped shoelaces. There won’t be a repeatt of last year’s frustration.. will there? Dennis wraps up with a medley of ccarols to include: little Town of Bethlehem, The First Noel, and Adeste Fidelis.
