Last moment gift wrapping, and re-gifting are going on as the family talk to their friend, Mr Lewellyn. Gildy talks about the gifts he plans to send to Fibber and Molly McGee back in Wistful Vista. Will they hold up to the singing message, and gift he just received from the McGee’s? What’s in the huge crate?
Accompanied by Leroy, Gildersleeve goes downtown for Christmas shopping for a better gift. Since Marjorie and Leroy won’t let him peek at the contents of the crate, he doesn’t know how much , or little he ought to spend? Trying to help a lady shopper, Gildy gets himself into a jam with her husband.
The weary shoppers return home to find that Lewellyn has locked the gift from Fibber away to keep Gildy from peeking. Its only a brief break before Gildy is back in the department stores, this time with Marjorie joining the fun. What kind of cool, high tech gadgets might catch Gildersleeve’s eye for his old chum? Surprises are in store when gifts, and misunderstandings come to light.
