Convinced that someone is out to sabotage the Metropolis football team, Clark has been prsuing leads. Some have been dead ends, but the case is taking shape. Clark plays off a report of witnesses who saw a man in a red cape, who broke into the law office of Quincey. Who could believe such a fairy tale as a flying man?
Now Perry White has his curiosity up, and accompanies Clark to the university. They talk about the suspects thus far, and their motive for sabotage. Creepy characters emerge, and soon our heros are captured and held prisoner.
Who belongs to that disembodied voice coming over the intercom? Will this keep Clark and Perry out of the picture until the big game on Saturday? How will they be able to escape from the solid steel room? Can they annoy their way out by continuously ringing a bell? How will the gas that comes seeping into the room affect Perry and Clark?
