Baffled by the bills, George gets more confused when Gracie tries to explain her reasons for buying the things that she did. The happy postman arrives, but he can’t help Gracie get back her checks she sent out to creditors. His complaint about his wife inspires Gracie to get a job at the bank so she can intercept her checks when they come in.
Gale Gordon is the banker who is confused by Gracie’s application, but the tables are turned when his questions make Gracie think that he’s coming on to her. Can George get a bank loan to bail Gracie out of her debts? Will Gracie be facing time in jail for her overspending?
