Alice escorts Phil to rehearsal. They recount the events of last show, when Frankie signed Phil’s contract for him. It won’t go to Frankie’s head will it?
Cut to the inside of the rehearsal hall, and Frankie is showing his colors as a dictator, and planning to make big changes. Phil tries to regain control, but the rowdy band members, and harpist make it difficult. Phil manages to transition into singing, Ain’t Gonna Give Anyone My Jellyroll.
To regain his position on the show, Phil will need to use strategy, tact, his mental faculty, and… wow, it might be hopeless. Meanwhile, Alice and the girls apply all their feminine wiles to win Frankie over. When Frankie does the right thing, Alice breaks out into song, It’s a Most Unusual Day.
Of course, since Phil doesn’t know all this, he finds himself over a barrel of comedy with Willie, Julius, and Frankie.
