Hermits Cave – Mr Randalls Discovery (AFRS). ep27

Actually a presentation from the Mystery Playhouse, and presented by Peter Lorre. Mr Randall wasn’t a scientist, but an ordinary man. However, he does spend long hours in the basement, doing experiments with chemistry and other sciences, much to his wife’s annoyance.

She’s worried about the kinds of wierd poison gasses, or germs that he’s working with, but he feels that she doesn’t respect his hobby and form of relaxation. Their teenage son seems interested in his dad’s work, and even hopes that something cool might be invented in their house someday.

In voiceover, we join the experiment that Mr Randall has going on with micro-organisms. Cathy continues to nag at Edgar over his hybernation in his lab. Can their son act as a go between for mom and dad to understand each other and get along?

As Edgar reports on the growing things in his lab experiments, is his wife’s fears coming true? Has he unleashed something terrible on their family? Does he still have control over the things that he has created?
