It’s day two of using the techniques in the salesmanship book, and the promise is to have a 72% increase in profits. Abner thinks Lum must be reading it backwards, since sales have actually fallen off rather than increased.

Lum reads more of the techniques about sizing up the personality of the customer. Abner gets confused, wondering what the physical size of the customer has to do with knowing what they want. He gets sidetracked, talking about a pie eating contest at the fair. When Cedric enters, Abner gets to practice what he has been learning about sizing up a customer.
