Postum presents your favorite radio friends, Lum and Abner. Drink Postum to settle the grouchy nature that emerges when you can’t handle caffeine or stimulants.
Now let’s see what’s going on down in Pine Ridge. Lum has been going full bore into the movie production business. All he needs is a camera. Lum has again changed his mind about the movie he wants to make. He has given up on a war picture, now he wants to make a romance, and rescue the girl from sundry perils. Grandpap and Abner talk about Lum’s efforts. Will Lum’s enthusiasm cause him to lose friends? Lum is upset when his personal secretary, Cedric, has disappeared with his schedule book. Without his appointment book, Lum doesn’t know what to do next.
Lum bounces some film story ideas off his friend Abner, and grandpap. The money making ideas just keep coming. What works well in the movies? Explosions! Lum’s dynamite ideas are cut short when Squire Skimp enters. Squire is acting as tallent agent for everybody in town. He explains how and why he will be making ten percent from the local potential actors. He’s so persuasive that both Lum and Abner want to hire him for their own agents. They both sign contracts on the spot. Do you think they rushed into their contracts too hastily?
Postum is good for children, and makes an appetising after school treat, and it won’t spoil dinnertime appetites. Lou Crosby says bye until Monday evening.
