Lum and Abner – The Real Reason Why Abner Disappeared. 350802. Horlicks: Travellers the world over have found Horlicks a handy aid to travel sickness, and satisfying hunger while on the move.
Let’s see what’s happening down in Pine Ridge. Abner has been missing, and due to threats from Squire and Snake Hogan, they are prime suspects. Today Dick and Lum talk about Lizabeth, and how she has seen the light, and folly of her interest in high society. She blames herself for Abner’s abduction, and wants him back.
Lum thinks that Abner is gone for a reason, and may be just hiding up in the mountains. Dick holds out that Squire and Snake know where Abner is located. The sheriff came after Squire, but the silver tongued salesman managed to get off the hook and sell the sheriff on a few shares of the silver mine stock.
Lum mentions that a silver mine mogul has offered Squire a sweet deal to sell the mine to him. If the sale goes through, all the stock holders just might stand to make a fortune. Grandpap stops in, and Lum makes comments to Dick about the fancy duds that grandpap is still wearing. Grandpap talks about Abner’s resistance about being in high society, and ponders over Abner’s disappearance. There’s some reason to believe that Squire really doesn’t have anything to do with Abner’s disappearance.
So what has happened? Just then a big, fancy car pulls up. Is it the man who is buying the silver mine? Lum marvels at the high style of the car, and the description of the man. Dick thinks he looks familiar, and he does. It’s Abner.
