Lum and Abner – Abner Sells The Jotem Down Store To Snake Hogan. 350731. Horlicks: Carlton Bricker tells about a friend of his who had trouble reducing his weight, and advised both him and his wife to try the Horlicks plan. It’s safe, and healthy.
Now, Let’s see what’s happening in Pine Ridge. Previously, Squire had been trying to get Abner to sell the Jottem Down store, in hopes that the money would be reinvested in Silver Mine stock. Today Dick and Lum talk about the events. Abner has sold the store, but refuses to take part in the mine, stock, or any of the high society lifestyle. He’s the stubbornest man Lum has ever seen. Squire is mad because Abner didn’t buy stock, and mad at Lum for not convincing Abner to buy any stock.
Abner enters, and is as happy as he can be over his deal. The three friends discuss how the terms of the store’s sale worked out, the threats that he has recieved, and how Snake Hogan is a part of it.
What’s Abner going to do now, start a new business? Lum shares that he was disappointed at Abner’s lack of participating in the high society scene, but he’s proud of Abner’s success over Squire. Squire and Snake visit and want to have a private talk with Abner.
What’s that all about? First they’re suspicious, then Lum and Dick go into a panic when Abner is abducted, and stuffed into a car.
Horlick testimonial: A man tells how he, and some friends took Horlicks on a rigorous canoe trip in the great outdoors. An excellent product to sustain energy when regular meals can’t be obtained. Take a flask along where ever you go.
PS: I feel like I’m missing something between this show, and the ones that preceed it. The show titles seem right, but I wonder if a previous OTR archiver might have mislabled a few dates. Still, there are some interesting adventures ahead as our heros go through yet another ongoing transition in their lives, the Jottem Down store, and in Pine Ridge.
