Down in Pine Ridge Squire has planned to preempt the grand opening of Lum and Abner’s theater with his own grand opening. To retaliate, Lum and Abner plan a childrens matinee.
Today Lum and Abner talk about the paint job that Abner just gave to their movie house. Silly old Abner painted the walls, and windows too. Just what’s wrong with Abner? He takes everything so literal.
After some upset emotions are calmed down, Dick Huttleston arrives. Dick has some good news about Squire being upset about their planned matinee.
Carlton Bricker takes us across town to Squire’s theater where we listen on Grandpap talking to him. Squire gets on the party line to talk to sister Simpson. He drops hints that the film that Lum and Abner will be showing might not be good for kids to watch. That sneaky old Squire.
Horlicks: Malted milk tablets are good for kids, but as great tasting as candy. even Navy pilots take them for added energy on long flights.
