Down in Pine Ridge, the movie theater competition is growing violent. Today Dick stops in from the county seat to talk with Lum. He was able to rent some seates that were no longer available after Squire snapped them up for his theater. Lum and Dick talk about the work that still needs done before the theater can open this Saturday.
Abner joins the conversation. To take a break from the work, Abner offers to have Lum over for dinner. Dick, Lum, and Abner express their friendship and gratitude for the help they each have contributed. Lum shares one of his old Edwards sayings, but it doesn’t manage to confuse Abner too badly.
The three talk about the anticipated grand opening, and how to promote it. Cedric arrives with some handbills to announce Squires grand opening on Friday, and for a lower admission price than Lum and Abner.
