In Pine Ridge, Lum announced their grand opening for the theater as Saturday. At the same time Squire announced his for Friday, and at a lower price.
Today Lum talks to Dick about Abner learning how to use his movie projector. With Cedric jumping ship to work in Squire’s theater, somebody has to run the projector for their theater. After some errors, he has it figured out.
Lum and Abner tell Dick about the cowboy flick they will be showing. Their elaborate description is so well done that Dick claims he won’t need to see the movie now.
Dick gives them the idea to have a matinee for the kids that will preempt Squire’s opening. How can they advertise it so people will come, but Squire won’t find out, and try to counter them with a plan of his own?
Horlicks Drama: In a drugstore a woman goes to buy her malted milk product. Her friend stops her by warning that only Horlicks is the original quality product, and all others are mere imitations.
