Dennis opens the show to remind us of last week’s incident with Don refusing to sign his contract. Flashback to Jack’s house where Dennis and Rochester talk. Jack is busy talking to Don, who has been locked in a room until he relents to sign Jack’s contract. Don is still holding his own, despite his hunger and thirst.
Dennis and Jack have a confrontation over singing on the show, and the success Dennis is having on his other show. Polly the parrot has a cold, but are Jack’s home remedies working? Mary arrives to tease Jack about his hair piece. She also tells the latest news from her sister Babe regarding boyfriends, and beauty treatments. Dennis sings, Terra Tulerra Trulah. (or however you spell it.)
Phil phones in to report all about after his trip to Washington, after he took part in the presidential inauguration He says that he was on Fred Allen’s program. Hey, that explains Fred’s appearance onPhil’s show last week.
Although Jack is a little upset over the mention of Fred, he rebounds, and Phil goes on to tell aboutthe sites in New York. Jack has a meeting to go to, but before he leaves Rochester asks for the night off, and hits Jack up for a few bucks for his date. Jack and Mary leave, and run into Kitzel on the way. He doesn’t have much to say though.
Elsewhere, the Beavers are starting their meeting. They talk about their favorite member, and Treasurer. He has been spotted with a girl, and some of the beavers have a complaint about it. Once Jack arrives, an election for a new Treasurer commences. The candidates give their speeches. Jack reads the expense report for the club. The election takes place, but Jack wouldn’t try to rig the votes would he?
Jack walks home afterward, but drops a quarter on the sidewalk. Do you think Jack might be worried? After a dramatic set of sound affects as Jack makes preparations, we find out what lengths he takes to get it back.
