Horlicks: Imitations are made to resemble a thing, but no imitations can hold up to the quality of Horlicks. Accept no substitutes. Only the finest ingredients for the past 50 years.
The story thus far is about a man who came to Pine Ridge, and lost a diamond. Squire found it, and has cost Lum and Abner $200 in reward money, only to discover the stone was a fake.
Now, Abner is mad at being cheated by Squire and wants to go and beat him up. Lum talks him out of it. It helps that Abner isn’t one to hold a grudge for long.
Since several episodes have been missing in this part of the series, fortunately some of the story is revisited to tell how Grandpap had a hand in keeping Lum and Abner out of trouble with the lost diamond situation. Their discussion turns to making improvements around the Jottem Down Store.
When Squire comes for a visit, any ill feelings and plans for revenge are put to rest when he tells how bad he feels over his part in the recent diamond mix up. He even offers to make it right by paying them back their money, plus more. What’s that about? Could Squire be planning some kind of trick?
Horlicks testimonial: A lady reads a letter to tell how her baby was made well, and grew healthy, all because of Horlicks. Gotta love this stuff.
