Connie talks about her latest adventure with her bashful biologist boyfriend, Mr. Boynton to Mrs. Davis. He has recently gotten for himself a new pet dog. The two gals compare notes on the benefits of dogs and cats. Minerva demonstrates her mathematical ability. What could Connie do to prove that she loves animals? Maybe Minerva will behave herself if she goes to school with Connie?
Mrs. Davis tells about the pet she got for her absent-minded brother, a cow. Fortunately, he lives on a farm.
At school, Mr. Stone complains to Mr. Conklin about a stray animal that was seen in the building, and they have taken offense at the dog. Animals are to be forbidden from the grounds. Minerva picks this time to start meowing from inside Connie’s handbag, and she has trouble covering up the distraction.
Connie makes a hasty retreat to warn Boynton about the anti-animal kick. With a new hiding place for the animals, will Minerva be safe in Boynton’s care? Connie longs for the treatment to be shown on her that Boynton showers on the various animals that move through their conversation. How oblivious can a guy be?
Conklin raids the lab to look for unauthorized animals, and after a slow burn over Minerva, Connie has some explaining to do. Will Connie’s goose be cooked as she becomes a dead duck when Conklin learns who Minerva belongs to?
In the cafeteria, Walter tries to impress Connie with a little poetry. Walter has overheard the animal incident of earlier this morning, and he has taken the liberty to intervene, and has intercepted Minerva’s cat license tag that was confiscated. But is the cat out of trouble just yet? A jail break is planned, and an escape to the farm where the cow is located.
There’s still the matter of Boynton’s dog. Can the dog be safely removed from the grounds as well? Walter reports in on the happenings at the farm. Mrs. Davis has made a mix up and a special seat cushion that was made for Connie was sent to the farm. Guess what was just delivered to Connie at school? The cow says, “moo.”
Connie scrambles to keep the cow hidden out of sight, but how long can she manage it? School is over, and time for making their big break. Walter spots Harriot and her dad approaching, so the cow and our heroes hide in the closet. The noisy cow won’t keep quiet, but try as they might, Connie and her friends can only cover up for so long. Especially when Conklin needs to get his hat from the closet. After a classic slow burn from the master of slow burns, Conklin reacts to the trespasser in his closet.
