Wild Bill Hickock – A Charge on Devil’s Mountain. ep8, 510805

"Two cowboys, Wild Bill Hickok and his trusty sidekick Jingles, ride their horses through a rocky landscape. Wild Bill holds a revolver in his right hand and Jingles holds a shotgun in his left. They both wear cowboy hats, bandanas and leather vests adorned with fringe. In the foreground, a buffalo stands in the grass, watching them pass by."

Hold onto your hats, because here comes Guy Madison as Wild Bill Hickock. Complete with his sidekick Andy Devine, as Jingles.

In the telegraph office a boy learns how to tap out a code, and play a signaling bugle. It has been quiet around town, but just then a band of outlaw’s ride into town, shooting the place up and robbing the bank. In the melee, the boy’s grandpa, and telegrapher, is gunned down. What can the sheriff do about the Jenkins gang? Well, first of all, it’s time for a sponsor message.

Word of the gang reaches Wild Bill, and he rides to town with Jingles. The sheriff sets Bill and Jingles on the trail of the Jenkins gang, but they are holed up pretty solid in a cave. The gang is such a threat, and secure in their hiding place that the towns folk are up in arms. The upset citizens vote to have Bill leave town. Is Wild Bill going to just take it, and ride out of town? Is he going to turn tail and run from the bad guys?

Yup. It looks that way. Bill and Jingles meet their only supporters from town, the sheriff, the boy and pappy, and a little about their plan is revealed. Will their surprise attack on the Jenkins gang work? It’s not looking so good for them. Whew, with all that suspense, it’s time for another sponsor break, and chomp on some pops.

There’s a major shootout with plenty of cowboy action between Bill and the bad guys. In the end though, Wild Bill has a few tricks up his sleeve that the Jenkins gang never thought of. As is typical, good triumphs over evil, and Bill saves the day.
