The Great Gildersleeve – Gildy Wants New Job to Keep up with Bronco. ep428, 520102

A close-up portrait of Willard Waterman as the Great Gildersleeves, a middle-aged man with slicked-back hair and a thin mustache. He is smiling widely, showing his teeth. He wears a dark suit jacket, white shirt, and patterned tie. The background is plain and light-colored, with no visible details. The lighting highlights the man’s facial features clearly, emphasizing his expressive eyes and cheerful demeanor. The overall look is formal yet friendly.

Expecting opportunity to knock soon, Gildersleeve’s welcomes a visit from judge Hooker. Although they exchange New Year’s greetings, Gildersleeve’s is not feeling respected. The judge recognizes Gildersleeve jealousy over bronco’s new success. Will that be wise for Gildersleeve’s to respond to a job vacancy?
Stopping in at Peavie’s drugstore, Gildersleeve’s wants to borrow his typewriter. Gildersleeve frets over who to use for reference. Why doesn’t he use a typewriter in his office if he doesn’t like the one in the drugstore?
In his quest for greener pastures, Gildersleeve’s finds long lines in the employment office. How will his interview go? After the promising new offer, he’s all set to mail a scathing resignation letter to the mayor. Will he receive the accolades from his family that bronco received once he gets home?
Since his first job assignment is not what he expected, Gildersleeve’s is glad he didn’t mail that resignation letter yet. Unfortunately, bronco did. Can judge Hooker offer some legal advice for him? Will they be able to intercept that letter in time? How will the mayor react when he reads it? He gets a pleasant surprise when the mayor not only wants to keep him, but also to give him a raise.
