the Jolly boys club is due to get together for a little barbershop style singing. Nothing can dampen Gildersleeve spirits, until he learns the judge is stepping out to go on a date instead of going to sing with the Jolly boys. Marjorie gets thrilled at the idea that after all these years, the judge might finally find someone to get married to and settle down.
As president of the Jolly boy’s club, Gildersleeve’s decides to insert himself with the judge and his date at lunch. What will he learn about Mona, the judge’s companion? Pulling him aside, the great man is worried that judge Hooker is getting involved with a gold digger. Making in appeal to the rest of the Jolly boys, will he get any support from them?
A plan is made, and Gildersleeve’s calls Mona to ask her out for a date. What will it prove she was out with him? What will it prove if she doesn’t? Gildersleeve’s as sure the woman is just toying with the judge. He arranges a night out on the town, hoping that the judge will spot him with Mona. At the drugstore, there is about to be a confrontation when the judge enters. It’s not as bad is Gildersleeve thanks, when the judge reveals the secret of who Mona is.
