Superman rescues Tumbleweed from the car at the bottom of the river. There is no sign of the driver, but later we find that he escaped safely and returned to his boss. Clark goes to investigate the strange happenings that surround Sidney Ryecroft, the lady explorer, her disappearance on that first day, even the fact that her room was really a storage closet instead of an actual room.
While Clark is gone, Tumbleweed is captured again.

Previously, Jimmy has been locked in a closet. Tumbleweed is again captured by the gangster. Then on top of that the Egyptian kidnaps him as well. And just where is Superman?
Meanwhile, Clark is at the Daily Planet, and verifies the identity of Sidney Ryecroft, the British explorer is the woman. There had been some dispute early on whether she was the explorer, or another man who was also posing as a magician.
Back in Clark’s apartment, Tumbleweed is about to be taken away to points unknown, when the lights go out and a mysterious whispering voice is heard.
PS: It seems to be an occasional ploy in old radio dramas to use a creepy whispering voice to stir up mystery, or spookiness. I find very annoying, hard to follow, and anything but mysterious, spooky, or creepy. Even though the whisper is meant to disguise the voice, I think I already know who the person is. I’ll also add at this point that this particular story line is not one of my more favorite ones. I would place it near the bottom of my list of good stories.

Previously, Clark Kent has been able to confirm the true identity of explorer, Sidney Ryecroft. The person behind the whispering voice helps free Tumbleweed and Jimmy. Tumbleweed decides to take the advice of the whisperer and take a plane back west. Why is Tumbleweed so important to the black pearl? Will getting out of the way, and back West solve the matter?
He tells Clark and Jimmy his goodbyes as he boards his plane to go back to the ranch. Just then a last-minute message from the whisperer warns of problems.
PS: Maybe it’s just me, but that whispering voice really annoys me.

Tipped off by the whisperer, Superman flies after the airplane carrying Tumbleweed back to the ranch. What dangers await the cowboy friend of Clark and Jimmy? Superman stays near to safeguard it as it makes its journey. After an adventure in the air, Tumbleweed is returned safely to Metropolis.

Mysteries remain from preceding episodes. The missing explorer Sidney Ryecroft, and even an entire theater that is missing. Today, Clark reveals the secret of the theater and how the British explorer disappeared.
There are still a few secrets surrounding Sidney Rycroft. Who is she, and why her elaborate tricks to fool everybody? There’s also still that whispering voice to figure out, and why is Tumbleweed so important? Where is the Black Pearl.

Most of the mysteries have been revealed surrounding the sacred black Perl, but there’s still a few more answers to come. Today the Egyptian gangster wants to poison everybody to get the Peral from Tumbleweed. The pearl was hidden in the pistol, in the bullet that shot Tumbleweed in an earlier installment. Unknown to him, he had been carrying the pearl inside his body the whole time. Clark volunteers to be poisoned first. When his body is carried out, it doesn’t take long for Superman to crash in and save the day.
