Spike’s guest is the Sinatra of the Steinway, Jan August.
- Mike Wallace introduces Spike Jones and his City Slickers as they play, No, No Nora.
- Dorothy Shea, the blonde Park Avenue hillbilly talks to Spike about the Halloween holiday then talks about her ideal mountain man. She sings, Say that We’re Sweethearts Again.
- After Mike Wallace plugs the sponsor, Spike returns with, Easy No Hands. I think the song might also be titled, My Old Flame. The humorous vocalist does a hilarious rendition of Peter Lorie.
- As Dorothy and Spike talk, a trick or treater stops in. What do you know, it’s Jan August. He tells a little about how he got started in the singing and piano playing business. A short dramatic reenactment is done. Jan plays his hit, Miserlou.
- Dorothy sings a track from her upcoming album; It Was Just a Friendly Feeling on My Part.
- Then in a South American style, Jan August plays, Begin the Beguine. The music transitions into Dorothy singing another hit of Jan’s, Besa Me Mucho. Finally Spike Jones picks up on a tune. Presumably one of Jan August, but who else could do a song that includes barking dogs, chirping birds, whistles, bells, and other crazy sound affect? Gotta love good old Spike.
