Gracie and her friend Dorothy enjoy a movie that features Gregory Peck. Their fantasy has to end when they return home, and face the reality of their husbands. Gracie shares romantic aspirations with some of her girlfriends before she goes home to George.
George puts an end to any remaining illusions that Gracie may have clung to. Why can’t George be as romantic as Gregory Peck was in the movies? As they turn in for the night, Gracie dreams that George is Gregory Peck. She is pampered with breakfast in bed, and shopping sprees. Her ecstasy is broken by waking to George.
Having enough of the dreaming, George goes to see the real Gregory Peck, and the two gents complain about their similar women trouble, and their wives’ expectations. They decide to put on an act to make Gracie change her mind. This ought to be interesting, since these things never seem to work out for George.
Since Gregory has trouble taking a stand with his real wife, he hires an actress to pretend she is married to him. The plan is to let Gracie see him being mean to his wife, so she will change her romantic ideas of him.
When Gracie learns about the real Mrs. Peck, the girls lash back to keep their husbands in line.
