in this undated episode, gene Lockhart stars in this unusual Christmas drama. It’s a story of a man who faces being ruined by his own greed. The storm at sea causes the worried sailors to turn to praying. The skipper however feels their faith is a sign of weakness. Can he snap his crew into shape before they all drowned? When the crew survives, should they be grateful to the captain? Or to their God? Later, the captain and crew make plans over what they will do with the anticipated treasure. Their immediate need however is when a pair of islanders is rescued from the sea as they travel in their canoe. Will the old sea captain help them get to Christmas Island? Instead, he takes what little possessions they have and treat them like prisoners. After taking desperate measures, the islanders are set free in the middle of the ocean with their canoe. When their treasure of pearls is also found missing, should the crew follow after the islanders, or just let them go? Although the islanders have been recaptured, the pearls are gone. In the meantime, the child is born aboard ship. Will the superstitions of the crew, mixed with the face of the islanders stir the heart of the old sea captain? What about the lost pearls? Will the greedy crew realize their dreams they had earlier? Let’s just say there’s something magical about a baby born off the shores of Christmas Island on Christmas day.
