She has to scramble when she learns that George has the day off, and plans to spend it with her. Trying to think fast, she pretends to be sick and sends George to go play golf.

While George is gone, Cory Cartwright, his best friend arrives. What will he have to say about her costume? Meanwhile, word comes that a replacement is needed for the key actor in the matron leagues play. George takes the part under the condition that Liz is told nothing about him being in the play. Under all that heavy. Costumes, neither will be able to recognize the other. What about all those love scenes? When George ducked out of the house to get to the theater, Liz finds evidence of the costume he was supposed to wear, and makes the mistaken notion of thinking it belongs to a girlfriend.
At the theater, everyone takes their place. Can anything possibly go wrong? George and Liz quickly recognize each other, but in between their lines, they break down into a lover’s quarrel. Don’t worry, despite the mishaps, they managed to work it all out in the end.
