Academy Award Theater – The Great McGinty. ep4, 460420

A black and white photo of an old-fashioned movie theater marquee with the name "Bijou" in large letters at the top. The marquee features several movie titles, including "The Lone Ranger Returns" and "East of Eden." A few people are visible walking past the theater on the sidewalk.
Rush Gook, who was born Victor Rush Meadows and adopted at age nine, is his usual garulous self, providing all the latest news from Edwards High School.

A man who is barely more than a common thug gets the attention of a crooked politician during a rigged election. Vote early, vote often, and vote for those who are sick or dead, and can’t make it to the polls… or so the saying goes. Soon McGinty is running for office himself, with the crooked politician to mentor him.

Rising up to higher levels of office eventually put McGinty against his crooked mentor. Has the man created a monster? One who might challenge him for his own high governmental office?

Finding the love of a good woman, and discovering power in his own right, McGinty faces off with his mentor. Will he get honest votes to be the next top dog? Has McGinty bitten off more than he can chew?
The opening scenes offer a clue how this saga of the rise and fall of crooked politics ends up.
