Just when Lum and Abner have thought they exhausted their means at finding out the babies identity, or what the coat of arms with him means, a new hope may arrive. Abner wonders why Lum is acting so strange and refuses to sit down. After some coaxing, Lum talks about the broken-down horse he bought. He feels he needs to practice his horsemanship skills, so he’ll fit in with the rest of the dukes, and knights, when their royal baby is reunited with his kingdom.
Squire Skimp arrives, but will he have some information, or just want to sell a king-sized insurance policy to the gents for the baby?
Lum feels offended that Squire took liberties to send off to a genealogy company to investigate the insignia of the coat of arms.
Both Lum and Abner think Squire has suspicions that the baby is a king, and only wants to horn in. A postcard comes that proves to add even more to the mystery of the baby.
