it’s Monday night in San Francisco and we have a date with Gregory Hood. He talks to Harry Bartel about a sweet deal on some Chinese artifacts. He rolls the clock back to a case he had been working on about six years earlier. The case involves a dame, and some fake jade. Greg removes the timeline up until the point of last year. As Gregory enjoys a moment of leisure, it’s interrupted with the word about that previous case. The Police Lt. has a package he needs to discuss before a certain young lady shows up.
Being an importer, Gregory tells the girl how he was dealt some fake jade. What does his next visitor, Hilary has to do with the scheme? He’s not dangerous but he’s a rat for a gang. When Greg’s friend Sandy rushes in, the group rushes off to investigate the murder. The shooting isn’t over, and Sherry proves that she’s pretty handy with a gun.
On his leisurely stroll home, Gregory finds out the actions not quite over. A shadowy figure tries to gun him down, and leaves a note. The cops will handle this, but Gregory thinks it a novel situation to solve his own murder.
Disguising himself, Gregory and Sandy keep the story of his being a corpse alive as they investigate. After chasing some dead ends, Gregory returns to Sherry. Will he have anything to report to the Police Lt.? There’s a tender moment when Sherry turns deadly, the Gregory explains it all in the end to Sandy.
