Ken Niles arrives to give his opinion on Lou’s chances of finding a girl to marry. He tells how he first met his wife. Mrs. Niles arrives for her usual round of insults, but gets on board with the matrimonial jokes.

Bud gives Lou a hard time over his technique to pick up dates. Lou discusses some of his latest dating conquests. When Connie and enters, Bud coaches Lou on tips on how to ask her for a date. The problem is she Artie has a boyfriend, John Garfield. Will Lou have his big chance when John arrives to say he won’t be able to make his date tonight? Will Lou heed the warnings to stay away, or will it be a challenge for him to pursue Connie?

Connie Haynes sings a new song, “time will tell.”

The lovestruck Costello sings out to Abbott for fashion advice. He’s determined to ask Connie Haynes for date, and Bud suggests that he bring her a gift. Connie agrees to let the boys visit, but will there be problems when John shows up? She has a plan to have Lou disguised himself in one of her dresses. She will claim that he is Bud’s girlfriend. What can go wrong with this plan? As Connie and Bud pretend to bake a cake in the kitchen, Lou can’t stand when John starts coming on to him.
