Lum and Abner Coat Of Arms. 420723

A black-and-white photo of Lum and Abner. Lum is on the left and has wavy hair and a mustache. He's wearing a suit and tie, and looks amused or curious. Abner is on the right, has messy hair and a beard, with exaggerated, surprised expression. He's wearing glasses and a dark suit with a bow tie. The composition suggests a comedic setting.

The insurance business has been slow, so Squire Skimp pops into the Jot Em Down store to try to sell an insurance policy to Lum and Abner for the baby. Abner gets confused over paying the premiums on a policy for the baby. Is it legal? Shouldn’t the baby pay his own bills?

The insurance blanks are in hand, but there’s a slight problem. Abner points out the baby still has no name. Will Squire be able to settle the matter? How will they find the baby’s legal name?

A locket may help learn more about the baby’s identity. Not wanting to see a sale slip through his fingers, Squire sets out to do what he can to identify the baby. Meanwhile, Lum and Abner discover a coat of arms. What does the insignia mean?
