Charlie and his #1 son tackle a mystery involving a man who had a superstitious fear of ants and black birds. Such a silly thing, but when he ends up dead, it appears his fears were grounded. Though the police inspector is stumped, he applies his gruff demeanor to push the case along.
Charlie and his son put together the clues about the ants, and others to begin to come up with some answers. Being a serial, the following episodes are missing, so when the show ends with a couple of cliffhanging gunshots, we are left on the edge of our seats to wonder what happened, and will Charlie Chan solve this baffling crime?
